Turnways offers a range of one-to-one creative therapy for depression, fears, anxiety, painful traumatic events, eating disorders, self-harm, hearing voices, and more. We help our service-users to rediscover the joy they once had, through a recovery of motivation and perspective. Turnways therapists work with service-users, including adopted young people, teenagers, adults, and families.

Family work, also called informal family therapy, invites members of the family, such as parents, grandparents, or other guardians, to come together with a child service-user to develop and improve relationships and communication. This can include working with a full family where appropriate. Both Amanda Strevett-Smith and Jim Cameron are equipped with Systemic training and vast experience with a wide range of formal and informal family therapy.

Drama therapy lends itself to group work and we often find that teenage service-users and young adults benefit from working in a group setting. Following a spell of individual therapy, working amongst a group allows service-users to feel less alone in their difficulties, and to practice peer relationships. Group work, for children, teenagers, and adults, may involve expressing feelings through therapeutic theatre or story telling. This can take place in small groups in schools, or other settings.

Turnways offers a full mind and body specialist assessment for teenagers and children, including a full report for social care and health purposes, or for family courts. Our reports can also be used as legal medical documentation for compensatory purposes or for further treatment.
